a. What are the technical skills being demanded of ICTM Professionals
today?

I noticed in the job listings that Java, C/C++ and Visual basic are some of the common requirements need to apply. I consider these three as the tools in building something, building something significant. In some other jobs you also need to have knowledge on Microsoft Office applications like Microsoft Excel. I see Microsoft Office applications as a means to keep things in order. Knowledge in HTML is also a plus in some jobs. You do need to make your business known and what better way to make people know it exists by putting it in the Internet, the world's greatest source of information. Maybe I can say that these are the technical skills demanded from ICTM professionals today.

b. What are the non-technical skills that I need to develop now?

I really need to develop interpersonal and communication skills. Without these I won't be able to survive in my profession. I'm a type of person who keeps to myself and relies only on my own ability, disregarding others but then I'm not completely anti-social because usually I give help to others. The flaw here is that I gain nothing in return but then I continue to be a kind person which when the time comes when I have to work for a living, I need to totally eliminate this kindness. In this dog eat dog world I shouldn't waste my time helping others. Maybe today it would be significant but then in the outside world there are a number of people who would try to take advantage of you. In the past I have been made a fool of. It is because I lack these skills. As a minor, the consequences of this loss isn't that great but in the future, in the outside world, the consequences could be grave and it may even cause me to fall into an endless abyss where I could never recover from. These two skills shall be my sword and shield to help me fight in the battle of life.

c. How do I plan to develop these skills myself?

I need to expose myself more to people. Its been a habit of mine to expect the worst from other people. I probably inherited it or got it from my mother. Maybe chains of distrust run in my blood. Sometimes I also anticipate too much from a person, leading to disappointment after. Its only now that I'm exposed to people unlike in the past but I don't think this is enough. I need to expose myself more. I have this certain view of the world that now I'm beginning to doubt. I need to understand this actual world I live in, not the fantasy, conservative world that I grew up in. I'm starting to believe that conservative minded people cannot survive anymore in this world. "Be good and you shall be given merit" I now see this as false. Nice guys would always finish last no matter how you look at it. What I see now is you should take every opportunity that comes to you, don't ever hesitate because you think it is wrong. I see ICTM as some kind of computer related entrepreneurship and as an entrepreneur I should take all the chances that come by my path.
